There are various fabric options to choose from, including cotton and velvet, available in a wide range of colours to ensure your new bed will complement your room. If the room will be used by children, guests, or lodgers and you're looking for something durable, we recommend our chenille fabrics, which are hard-wearing so you can be safe in the knowledge that they're far less likely to collect scuff marks over time.

Optional Matching Headboard
If you're new to made-to-measure beds and your order features a non-standard width, we strongly recommend adding a headboard to your purchase here at MattressRus — as it will be custom-made to fit your bed perfectly. Even if you opt for a standard width on an extra-long or shorty bed, it's still wise to choose a headboard at this stage, as it will be upholstered in the same fabric as your base, ensuring a flawless, coordinated finish. All MattressRus headboards come complete with wooden struts that simply screw into the back of the bed base for quick and easy installation — so you can enjoy your new bespoke bed with minimal fuss.
Awkward Stairs & Doorways
You may have plenty of space for your new odd size bed once it's in your room — but getting it there might prove trickier than you think. At MattressRus, we want to make sure your bespoke bed arrives without any hiccups. Please keep in mind that once your new bed has been made and delivered, we cannot offer a refund if it's too large to pass through to your room. That's why we always recommend measuring any hallways, doorways, stairways, and ceiling hatches along the route if you suspect there may be an access issue. This is especially important if the desired room has never housed a bed before — such as a recent loft conversion.
MattressRus offers practical solutions for tricky access points. Our made-to-measure beds that are up to 3'3" in width come in one single part. For sizes 3'6" and over, your bed base will arrive in two parts. However, if you need even more flexibility, you can also opt for an additional split — allowing the base to come in four parts instead. These quartered divan bases are a fantastic solution if you're dealing with limited access to your room.
